FSX paX Passenger Simulator

paX is a passenger simulation/emulation module for FSX only. At this time, it simulates passengers boarding your airliner before departure, including an accurate simulation of passenger delays and obstacles during the boarding process (like aisles blocked by passengers taking too long to get seated).

✈️ The Presidential Fleet: Boeing 747-8i "Air Force One" (VC-25B) for FSX & P3D

There is no plane more recognizable on the planet than Air Force One. While the current fleet consists of modified 747-200s, the upcoming VC-25B transition to the Boeing 747-8i has captured the imagination of flight simmers everywhere.

If you want to bring the "Flying White House" into your simulator, here is how to get the best experience in FSX and P3D.

🌟 Why the 747-8i?

The 747-8i is the "Queen of the Skies" perfected. With its extended fuselage, redesigned wings, and GEnx-2B67 engines, it handles differently than the classic 747-400. In the simulator, the 747-8i offers:

  • Improved Range & Efficiency: Perfect for long-haul presidential missions across the Atlantic or Pacific.

  • Modernized Avionics: If you use a high-fidelity panel, you’ll enjoy the updated flight management systems.

  • The "Look": The iconic baby blue and white livery looks stunning on the stretched 747-8i airframe.

🛠 Where to Find Your "Air Force One" Package

Finding a quality 747-8i can be tricky, as many are simple "repaints" of the default 747. For a professional experience, look for these versions:

  1. The "Project Opensky" (POSKY) / SkySpirit 747-8i: * Verdict: The gold standard for freeware. It features fully animated control surfaces, gear suspension, and detailed wing-flex.

    • Where to find: Search on Simviation or Fly Away Simulation for "SkySpirit 747-8i Air Force One."

  2. The PMDG 747-8i Expansion (For P3D Users):

    • Verdict: If you are a serious simmer using P3D, the PMDG 747-8i expansion is the ultimate choice. It simulates every circuit breaker and flight system accurately.

    • Where to find: Available directly via the PMDG Store.

👨‍🍳 Pro-Tips for Your "Presidential" Flight

  • Callsign Magic: Don't forget to set your ATC callsign to "AIR FORCE ONE" in your aircraft config file or flight plan settings. Hearing the ATC address you as "Air Force One" makes all the difference!

  • Escort Missions: If you have an AI Traffic add-on, try to fly your departure/arrival near a military airfield to simulate your "escort fighters."

  • The "Step Climb": The 747-8i is heavy. Practice your step-climbs to reach your optimal cruise altitude of FL350-FL390; it’s a vital skill for flying this beast safely.

💡 Final Thoughts

Whether you are flying from Andrews Air Force Base (KADW) to a summit in Europe or just cruising over the Pacific, the 747-8i Air Force One is the ultimate symbol of flight simulation prestige. It’s heavy, it’s powerful, and it’s a challenge to master.

Do you prefer the classic 747-400 or the new 747-8i? Let me know in the comments which one feels better to fly!
