The Boeing 787, also known by its nickname Dreamliner, is a long-haul aircraft. Officially launched on April 26, 2004 for commissioning in May 2008, it makes its first flight on December 15, 2009 and is certified on August 26, 2011. The first delivery took place on September 26, 2011 to All Nippon Airways.

X-Plane 11/10 XPFW B738 AI Pack 1.0

This is one of a series of AI aircraft packs that we at XPFW made from our fleet of airliners. These AI aircraft are designed to give as little FPS loss as possible while at the same time look and perform realistically. They only work in v10!

When using "normal" aircraft as AI, this will on most systems result in a SIGNIFICANT framerate drop! In many cases the sim gets useless if you have more than a couple/few AI aircraft.

So I started to play around a bit with these aircraft. Also got a few hints from Austin how their flight logic is.
- First I removed the obvious, panels, sounds, instruments, since we of course don't need those.
- Second, I started removing and replacing textures. Compressing some, deleting others.
- Third I started removing excess 3D. Little details we can live without since we most of the time will observe these aircraft from some distance.
- Forth, and maybe most important, I started optimizing the flightmodel. There is tons of stuff that can be done to reduce the number of flightmodel calculations X-Plane does. Basically I'm simplifying it.
- Fifth, The "AI-pilot" does some stupid things and doesn't fly by the book. It looks for certain parameters in the file and draws conclusions from that how to fly. So by altering certain parameters one can make the aircraft behave more realistic on taxi, takeoff, approach and landing.

You should see a SIGNIFICANT performance increase and most of you should be able to fly with at least 10 of these. File contains these different livery's:

A fully-featured Boeing 787 freeware package for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Prepar3D including 3 different models and 56 repaints/liveries of real-world airlines. Fully compatible with the latest FSX: Steam Edition and Prepar3D v4.5+ (and backward compatible too).

Affectionately named the "Dreamliner", the Boeing 787 (originally the 7E7) is a mid-size, long-range aircraft manufactured by Boeing has been adopted by many real-world airlines and flight sim users alike.

The 787 flight sim model was originally developed by TDS and a complete Virtual Cockpit (VC) by Alejandro Rojas Lucena/FSND (with modifications using Ken Wiggington's 737 VC tweaks) has been included. The compilation of all of the features, repaints, and compatibility (especially in P3Dv4) was completed by Chris Evans.

People have, over the years, shifted over from using 2D panels and the most requested feature now for freeware aircraft is a working 3D VC. The VC included in this package is based on a 737-800 VC with some changes to make it look more like the 787's cockpit.

The package has been created in a certain way for ease of use. There is no need to edit .cfg files, manual add repaint configuration, panel settings or anything like that - simply drag the relevant folders into your copy of FSX or P3D and load the aircraft up in your simulator.

Each aircraft/folder is complete and separate making it easier to use. While doing it this way makes it easier, it does mean the initial download is larger. However, we find users prefer larger downloads over manually editing configuration files and learning how to add repaints.

Installation

Unzip the entire archive to a temporary folder.

In the root folder of the extracted archive, there are 5 folders. Copy the contents of the "Sound" folder into your main FSX or P3D Sound folder.

Copy the contents of the "Effects" folder into your main FSX or P3D Effects folder.

Inside the "Aircraft Packs" folder there are 56 different folders representing each different Boeing 787 mode/livery in the package.

Inside each of these folders are a selection of screenshots and the actual folder containing the aircraft model and paint which your simulator will use.

Copy this final folder (if confused this folder will contain the ".air" and "Aircraft.cfg" files) into the FSX or P3D "\SimObjects\Airplanes" directory.

You should do this for each variant you want to use.

Once complete, you should now find the aircraft visible in your copy of FSX or P3D.

That said, the virtual cockpit of the A330NG makes it possible to perfectly pilot this plane very stable, the sensations of piloting are there. There is also a Honeywell FMC, a GPWS, a HUD and multiple gauges.

Heli Traffic 2009 is a Flight Simulator module that adds realistic AI helicopter traffic.

Flight Simulator has supported AI traffic for several years and versions now. While offering realistic fixed wing AI aircraft, Flight Simulator does not natively support AI helicopters. There are a few add-on AI helicopters available, but they all take off, fly and land like airplanes.

Heli Traffic 2009 is the first Flight Simulator add-on that adds realistic AI helicopters that take off and land vertically, fly like helicopters and use helipads and not runways. This innovative product brings it's own AI engine that fully controls AI helicopters, instead of relying on FS to fly them. This allows a much greater degree of control, which translates into a realistic helicopter flight behavior.

Heli Traffic 2009 uses airport helipads for takeoffs and landings. Both stock and add-on airports are recognized. You can also define additional helicopter landing spots from within the program. Or you can add helipads to your airport with our Airport Facilitator X product - and Heli Traffic 2009 will automatically recognize and use these helipads. 

For each helipad, you can set a few parameters like the helipad name, the desired traffic density, average parking times and the approach slope.

Heli Traffic 2009 generates random and scheduled helicopter traffic. For random traffic, you simply set the desired number of movements at individual helipads. Heli Traffic 2009 will plan and execute helicopter flights that match your settings at each helipad in the best way possible.

You can also add scheduled helicopters that fly pre-defined routes. To add a scheduled helicopter, you just select the helicopter model to use and specify any number of helipads/landing spots to visit. The helicopter will perform flights between these helipads according to your schedule. For each scheduled helicopter, you can define the desired cruising altitude and airspeed, instead of using the default values.

For even greater control, you can specify enroute waypoints for scheduled helicopters. This allows you adding scheduled helicopters with more complex behavior than just flying from helipad to helipad. For example, you can add a sightseeing helicopter that takes off from a helipad, flies a pre-defined route over interesting landmarks in the area and lands at the same helipad.Or what about a TV news or police helicopter monitoring the city streets below or circling above a stadium? The possibilities are endless. 

Heli Traffic 2009 can use every stock and add-on helicopter installed in FS. In addition, it can use existing add-on AI helicopters that come with airplane flight models. You can select helicopter models to be used for random traffic, as well as the model of every scheduled helicopter. A built-in frame rate tester allows you to quickly test the frame rate impact of individual helicopters. To control the frame rate impact, you can set the visibility radius for AI helicopters in program options.

You can easily organize your helipad/landing spot settings and schedules into several individual files and share them with other users.

This F-GSPA has been done with the new livery of Air France.
